I loved the first 5 Harry Potter books, then life and other books got in the way. I did start to read # 6, and still plan to read it, and the rest. I LOVE that the series and the character energized kids into reading. Harry’s a conflicted young man, it’s interesting to see him grow, and his complicated situation does make us root for him.

I admit, I’m a Harry Potter fan, even if I’m behind. I thoroughly enjoy the movies and can watch them over and over.

I haven’t read a HP book, and only saw the first movie, so not a huge fan. But I agree with Jill, rooting for the under dog is always a huge draw. Unique hero to read about though! Thanks for the fun post.

I think Harry appeals to the picked on, put down, treated badly among their peers, kind of person, either now or in memory as a child.

From the moment he is introduced living in the cupboard under the stairs he was destined to be rooted for.
