There are few who will challenge him, and few women who can resist him, not even Karen as he invades her dreams. He is both a warrior to fear, a chief to respect and swashbuckler to love. But when he rescues her from a landslide and kidnaps her proclaiming she is his mate, Karen fights against the incredible lust and attraction that encases them. The most shocking discovery about this man with eyes that are truly black, he can turn into a panther in the blink of an eye. This leaves her to really question if the high altitude of the mountains hasn’t left her completely crazy.I read, Into the Shadow, from cover to cover in a day and half. This would be a great read as you lay on a beach, listening to the gulls cry and waves crash. Very entertaining and very, very sexy. The sex scenes were hot! Someone throw some water over here, with lots of ice!Can’t wait to finish the series. Did I mention it was very sexy. I’d say it depends on exactly how he redeems himself. I’ve read of heroes with have committed some bad acts and then behaved mildly well. I always feel like telling the author, “Yo, he’s not a hero. He’s a villain, or at the least, a jerk. Show us the real hero, please.” But I’ve also read of heroes who have committed some terrible acts and then have made amends as best they could and continued to feel remorse about the acts long afterward - to me, that’s what makes that type of hero someone a reader can sympathize with and continue forward with.

I think it depends greatly on what motivates his bad behavior and what kind of bad behavior he enacts. I think if it’s clear he’s good underneath the ‘bad’ facade, then the reader can see the path to his redemption and we know the heroine can, too.
Or, if, as Victoria said above, the hero has done terrible things but clearly is at conflict with those acts and with their consequences to others, he becomes sympathetic.

Depends on what he did and why he did it. I can forgive a lot, but there are a few things I do have trouble with getting over.
But sexy, huh?
Ok, I might have to add this to my reading list. Lately I’ve had trouble finding anything I like, so maybe I should switch gears and genres a bit.

I have read the first two books in this series and they are great. This one sounds good also. As for heroes. don’t we all at some point do things we need redeemption for? Heroes are just men but more. Why are they always so sexy? I have often wondered about that. Why do we always feel sorry for the heroine when does something bad but not the hero? I have heard that a lot in discussions about books. Most people don’t start out to hurt someone, but circumstances change and before you realize it, you have caused pain. It is when someone intentionally hurts another that I have a problem forgiving them. In reading about the Wilder’s, I have seen nothing that says what they do is intentional. They are just very self-assured and let’s face it, cocky. They know what they are and what they can do and go for it. Gotta respect that. Have a great evening and hugs to all.

I haven’t been able to read any of Christine Dodds paranormals. I love her humorous historical romances, and I enjoyed her contemporaries too. I don’t enjoy the dark side as much, though she’s such a good writer, she can write anything and it’s good. I should give her paranormals a shot.
