Dream a Little Dream
Dreams. We all have them. Some are big, some are small, but no matter the size, they unite us, don’t they?

I think it must be every writer’s dream to win the Pulitzer Prize, or land on the USA Today or New York Times bestseller lists [I know it’s mine!]. Well, it happened to a very deserving person this last week. Wednesday, Brenda Novak’s newest book, Trust Me, hit # 20 on the NY Times list. It also hit the USA Today list. And, to make her smile hurt, her online auction to raise money to cure diabetes brought in $250,000. That money goes straight to diabetes research.
Trust Me has an edgy cover and and begins with a bang. I’m only a few chapters in, but
look for the hero in a future hero profile. He’s got a lot going for him, beginning with honor, duty, and his need to protect Skye, the heroine of the novel.
I love it when good things happen to good people. I’ve profiled Brenda as one of Chasing Hero’s ‘Hero of the Week’ for this very reason. She’s got the same honor that infuses her hero. She also has a deep sense of duty to her son; she won’t give up until a cure for diabetes is a reality. Her needs are to protect her son, and to stay true to her convictions, whether in her life or in her writing.
I’m so proud to call Brenda a friend, and I’m so happy for her successes that my smile hurts! And because of people like her, I keep dreaming knowing that someday, one or more of my own dreams may come true.
So, as Brenda said in a letter she wrote to bid winners from her auction, here’s to dreams…

One of my dreams is for my son to get and keep his diabetes under control. Another is for my daughter to have an easy pregnancy and delivery of my granddaughter. I hope to go to Calif for that event in Nov. I try to read all of Brenda’s books. She is such a talented writer. I really admire her for her work with diabetes. That is such a worthy cause. And it looks as if I may be able to get Lola the 1st of the month. Yea!!!!
We all have dreams. What makes the difference is whether we follow them or not. My Mom always said I was her dreamer. I try to follow my dreams and a lot of them have come to pass. Never stop dreaming. Life is dull without our dreams.
May all your greams come true and hugs to all.
