Sharing the Love
Agents are like Ghandi. We take what they say deep into our hearts, breathe in their wisdom, agonize as we try to read between the lines for deeper meaning, and generally just fawn over them, Hollywood style. Today I thought I’d do a profile on a heroine [at least in my world]. Here’s the lowdown on Holly Root from Waxman Literary Agency…
The Look:
I’ve never met her in person, so I’ll go by her picture. Curly mahogany hair that falls in ringlets around her face. Beautiful glowing skin that comes from sitting indoors and reading. A lot. A smile that will stop traffic–a good thing, I’m sure, when you’re in need of a cab in New York. She’s s a person who’s true to herself and her vision.
Stats:
She was the first one to love, love, love Living the Vida Lola and Lola Cruz. She helped make the book what it is today, or what it will be on January 20th, 2009. She fights for what she likes and is a champion for the stories she believes in. Of course she has many other authors, and I respect that, but… Viva Lola!
What’s New:
Waxman Agency has a new blog all about the industry, inside and out. They’ll discuss books, writing, and publishing. They’re a cut above the rest. I truly believe that. The generous spirit, the honesty and ethics, and the professionalism make them an agency worth standing up and taking notice of. Stop by there, check it out, and see what makes Waxman Agency rock.
And tell ‘em Misa sent you. :)
