  • The Olympians have to be our heroes for this week. How could they not be? It is just not the Michael Phelps of the pool, or the young gymnast, it is all the Olympians and their families that are heroes. It takes incredible dedication, sacrifice more then talent to get to the Olympics. Yes, talent does play into the scenario, but also the mental fortitude of the athletes and their families is what really brings them to this astonishing place in their lives. Parents make tremendous sacrifices, both in time with other children in the family and marriages. Financial sacrifices are invariable, to pay coaches, pay for gas to get them to practice, the continual energy surrounding constant encouragement, and having the true belief their child will succeed and become great. Those parents have to know what fate has lined up for them as their children make history. Our chosen heroes are all the Olympians and their families. Go Team. Go America.
